Banteay Srei is a 10th-century temple in Cambodia, dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Located about 37 kilometers northeast of the main Angkor Wat complex, it is famous for its intricate pink sandstone carvings, which depict scenes from Hindu mythology. The name Banteay Srei means “Citadel of Women” or “Citadel of Beauty,” likely referring to the delicate and highly detailed craftsmanship of the temple.

Unlike many other Angkorian temples, which were built by kings, Banteay Srei was commissioned by a Brahmin named Yajnavaraha, who was a counselor to King Rajendravarman II. The temple was used as a place of worship and learning, particularly for Shaivism, a sect of Hinduism devoted to Shiva.

Today, Banteay Srei is one of the most well-preserved and beloved temples in Cambodia, attracting visitors for its unique artistry and historical significance.

Experience the unique way of life on Cambodia’s largest freshwater lake with a journey to Prek Toal Floating Village and Bird Sanctuary. This one-day tour takes you through the fascinating world of stilted homes, local fishermen, and vibrant floating markets while offering an unforgettable sunrise over Tonle Sap Lake.

Explore Prek Toal, a thriving floating community with its own schools, temples, and markets, before visiting Osmost Basket Weaving to witness traditional craftsmanship. Enjoy a home-cooked meal with a local family, followed by a serene boat ride through the mangrove forests, where you can observe diverse bird species in their natural habitat.

For those seeking a deeper cultural experience, an optional overnight stay with a local family allows you to fully immerse yourself in the daily rhythms of life on the lake.

We are leaving at 5.30am! 2 hours driving to Pol Pot House at AlongVeng.  Situated atop a 525 meter high cliff in the Dongkrek Mountains forming the natural border between Cambodia and Thailand is Preah Vihear temple, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008. Subject to controversial ownership issues over time, this temple officially belongs to Cambodia. Its location is 150km north of Siem Reap and we will spend approximately 3 hours getting here through picturesque countryside which becomes less and less populated the further north we go. We will explore this large temple and admire the impressive views.
We’ll have lunch locally and then head on to Koh Ker.

The seven-tiered pyramid like structure of Prasat Thom is by far the most prominent structure in this temple complex scattered across a large area. Up here it’s all red earth, blue skies and green vegetation. We will arrive back in Siem Reap in the late afternoon / early evening depending on our exploring pace.

Here’s a well-structured one-day tour plan covering Ta Mok’s House, Preah Vihear, and Koh Ker Temple..

The Tonle Sap is the largest fresh water lake in Southeast Asia. Its water levels are rising and falling with the seasonal rains and the tributaries even reverse their flow.

Colorful settlements are scattered on the margins of the great lake and it will be my pleasure to take you to my favorite spots. Time of year plays an important role here, some villages become completely dry during the hot season and lower water levels across the whole lake may make trips somewhat challenging.

A compact tour that take you to visit, history and photograph the main highlights of the majestic Angkor temples with our secret way – without the crowd. Four top temples are covered in this photo tour. Sunrise and sunset at Angkor still one of the visitors and photographers’ iconic experience. Ta Prohm made famous from the movie Tomb Raider and Angkor Wat, the heaven on earth.
